Morgen ein Weißes Rutschiges Volumen
An audio description Performance
Concept & Regie: Nazanin Bahrami
Performance: Nazanin Bahrami, Nargess Behrouzian
Soundscape: Omid Mashhadi
Our journey began with a one-week audio-description workshop led by Zwoisy Mears Clarke and Melanie Hambrecht. We practised voicing each shift in weight and direction so blind and visually-impaired spectators could follow the dancing in real time.
We carried that practice into The Left Hand of the Dark, a research frame supported by the Hessische Theaterakademie (HTA). Feedback from Lisa Lucassen and Friederike Thielmann, together with ongoing mentoring from Lavina Knop Walling, kept both the language and the movement precise.
The outcome is the audio-description performance Morgen ein Weißes Rutschiges Volumen, first shown at Theater neben dem Turm, Marburg. On stage we embody a loved one’s medical scans through our own bodies; live description in English and German travels alongside the choreography.
